UPDATE 4/11/26: The Mount Vernon Historical Society posted this update following the fire at the Searcy Hospital Site:
Late last night, a fire occurred on the grounds of the historic Searcy Hospital/ Mount Vernon Arsenal property in Mount Vernon. The fire is believed to have started at approximately 8:50 PM. All fire units cleared the scene at approximately 2:30 AM.
A structure on the property was fully involved in the fire. Additional structures were affected but sustained limited damage.…
