(FOX40.COM) — Turlock Police Department officials and school staff are urging parents to speak with their children about vaping and tobacco use after a large number of vaping devices and tobacco-related products were confiscated at Turlock Junior High School during the current school year.
According to police, the items were seized by Turlock Junior High staff and the school’s resource officer over the course of the school year. Officials said vaping and tobacco products are prohibited on campus and pose serious health risks to children and teenagers.
Police warned that many vaping devices contain high levels of nicotine and other harmful chemicals that can affect brain development and lead to addiction in young users.
