CHP: Stockton man arrested on felony hit-and-run, manslaughter charges after fatal truck crash

CLIPPER GAP, Calif. — Authorities have arrested Robert Bell in connection with a fatal hit-and-run big rig crash on Interstate 80, after a weeks-long search.

Bell, a 60-year-old from Stockton, CA, is suspected of fleeing from the scene of the crash on May 26 in the Clipper Gap area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Arriving CHP officers found the commercial vehicle, allegedly driven by Bell, had collided with the center divider on the interstate. The vehicle’s trailer then collided with a Ford F-150 that was traveling eastbound, killing the driver…
