Winton Park shooting suspects arrested, deputies say

WINTON, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The men accused of leaving a man in critical condition while a Winton Little League practice was taking place just steps away are now both in jail.

Deputies say they arrested the first suspect, 18-year-old Andres Madrigal Haro, on June 17. The second suspect, 19-year-old Alberto Cervantes, was arrested Tuesday in the 12900 block of Highway 140 in Livingston.

Both were booked into the Merced County Jail on attempted murder and gang-related charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two were wanted in connection with a June 16 shooting at Winton Community Park, where a Little League baseball practice was taking place…
