Emergency crews responded Wednesday to two calls about domestic animals in Stanislaus County waterways. The first involved two dogs that were rescued from a canal near Hickman. The other was a horse that drowned in Woodward Reservoir.

Two engines were dispatched at about 2:30 p.m. to the Turlock Irrigation District’s main canal, east of Hickman.
