Amaru Nightclub is set to open in November at 1864 E. Mariposa Road in Stockton, owner Johnny Ene confirmed to What Now Sacramento. The new venue will take over a space that has housed several nightlife concepts over the years, most recently El Centenario Club, a late-night bar that operated Fridays and Saturdays on the east side of Stockton. Ene has not yet disclosed details about the concept, but a pending liquor license filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control confirms the project is actively moving forward.
The address at 1864 E. Mariposa Road has a long history as a nightlife destination in East Stockton. Before El Centenario Club, the space operated as La Oficina and even further back as White House Tavern, suggesting the building has been a community gathering spot for decades.
