Drunk driver arrested on I-5 found driving 40 mph in fast lane

(FOX40.COM) — A drunk driver was arrested Monday morning in Stanislaus County driving well below the speed limit in the fast lane, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers stopped a vehicle traveling 40 MPH in the left lane of Interstate 5, where the posted speed limit is 70 MPH. The driver told officers he was heading to Nevada, CHP said.

The driver was found to be intoxicated. CHP shared a photo showing the driver’s blood alcohol concentration at 0.346%, well above the legal limit at 0.08%. He was arrested for driving under the influence. No injuries were reported, CHP said…
