A driver in a bright orange sports car was arrested for blatantly speeding past a California Highway Patrol Officer in the Stockton area on Aug. 31, dashcam footage shows.
The man was driving at a “dangerously high speed” before his arrest, according to the California Highway Patrol. However, authorities did not say how fast he was going.
CHP posted footage of the gutsy maneuver to social media Sunday. The video shows the man speeding past the marked CHP cruiser in what appears to be a Toyota GR86. The driver was pulled over and arrested for reckless driving. The bright orange sports car was impounded.
“Excessive speed reduces your ability to react to changing traffic conditions, increases stopping distance, and can turn a split-second mistake into a deadly crash,” CHP said. “Your destination is not going anywhere. Slow down, drive responsibly, and get there safely.”…
