Two men whose bodies were recovered this week in the San Joaquin River following a boat incident on Sept. 6 have been identified by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paul Anthony Mendes, 51, of Hanford, and Scott Randall Seabourn, 68, of Lodi, had gone missing near Prisoner Point and Hayes Beach after their boat overturned and submerged. One other person was recovered from the water on the day of the incident with major injuries. The person was flown by Life Flight to a hospital in critical condition, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Boating Safety Unit had been called to the scene on Sept. 6 to search for the remaining two people. The sheriff’s office said the boating incident occurred just after 5 p.m. prompting the search efforts which lasted until Sept. 8…
