Oakdale, CA—A Sonora man was wounded in a shooting in Oakdale Saturday night, and two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, according to the Oakdale Police Department.
Police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots at about 10:30 p.m. on September 6th in an alley near the 200 block of South First Avenue. Officers responding to the area found a 40-year-old Sonora man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
Following an investigation, detectives with the Oakdale Police Department’s Investigations Unit identified two suspects: 34-year-old Michael Romero-Porter of Riverbank and 25-year-old Chelsie Williams of Oakdale. With assistance from allied law enforcement agencies, investigators tracked both suspects to Carson City, Nevada, where they were taken into custody on September 9th without incident. Romero-Porter was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition. Williams was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, being an accessory after the fact, and battery.
