Family members of alleged Stockton serial killer Wesley Brownlee testified Sept. 11 for the first time in a competency trial to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
Brownlee, 47, was arrested in October 2022 and is charged in the shooting deaths of six men: Juan Vazquez Serrano, 40; Paul Yaw, 35; Salvador Debudey Jr., 43; Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21; Juan Carlos Carranza-Cruz, 52; and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54.
He is also accused of the attempted murder of Natasha LaTour, a Stockton woman believed to be the lone survivor of the suspected serial killer’s attacks and the first person Brownlee allegedly targeted in April 2021…
