Ceres drunk driver convicted of reckless driving

(FOX40.COM) — A jury has convicted a Ceres man of felony driving under the influence causing great bodily injury and felony reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.

On March 20, 2025, 28-year-old Marco Duran drove at nearly 100 miles per hour and weaved through traffic when he crashed into another vehicle on Highway 99 near the Carpenter Road overpass. The force ejected Duran and his passenger, who sustained major injuries including broken ribs and significant internal trauma, the attorney’s office said.

Investigators spoke to Duran at the hospital and smelled alcohol on his breath. His blood was tested at lab which found presence of alcohol, proving he had been under the influence at the time of the crash…
