The second half of September brought a wide mix of City business, from homelessness prevention and public safety funding to professional sports, wastewater infrastructure, employee benefits and government accountability. The September 29 City Council agenda carried many of the period’s biggest actions, while Community Services also highlighted a full slate of fall programs and events.
The Big Picture
One of the largest decisions of the reporting period was the allocation of $11.7 million in Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention funding to seven organizations serving Stockton residents.
The funding includes $5 million for St. Mary’s Community Services Campus operations, supporting more than 600 shelter beds, and $1.3 million for the Housing Authority of San Joaquin County to help 104 families remain housed through 2027 after federal Emergency Housing Voucher funding is expected to run out earlier than projected.
