Update: The suspicious circumstances that emptied Modesto courthouse, city hall

A bomb threat made against both facilities forced the evacuation of the Stanislaus County Courthouse and the Tenth Street Place city-county government building downtown on Tuesday morning, the Modesto Police Department reported.

An MPD post on Instagram says the report was received at about 8:30 a.m. “Out of an abundance of caution, both buildings were evacuated to ensure the safety of employees and the public while authorities conducted an investigation.”

MPD spokesperson Herman Sahota told The Bee that public safety personnel thoroughly searched both buildings and “no threats were located.” By 11 a.m., access to the courthouse and Tenth Street Pace was restored and normal operations resumed…
