CUSTOMERS at Burger King have slammed the fast food chain after it abruptly closed a location that has been in business for two decades.
In Turlock, California, about 94 miles southeast of Oakland, a Burger King location shut down last week.
Locals in the area were given no warning but found the doors and windows to the restaurant boarded, according to the Turlock Journal.
The Burger King location has been a staple for customers in the area since it was built in 1980, but its lease is now open for other owners to come in.
Fast food fans were vocal about the closure online, taking to a Facebook
about the announcement.
Some were happy to see the Burger King location leave the area.
“Good riddance,” one person fumed.
Others claimed that the increase in hourly wages for restaurant workers in California might have led to the shutdown.
“How’s that 16-20 bucks an hour working out?” someone remarked.
“That new minimum wage is sure working out well,” another echoed.
