(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento and Stockton region recorded its third straight day of record-breaking high temperatures on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Modesto, Sacramento and Stockton broke or tied record high temperatures for Jan. 30 that were set in 1976, according to the NWS.
Sacramento temperatures over the weekend set new records
The city of Sacramento reached 73°F on Tuesday, matching the former record high. Sacramento Executive Airport also tied its record of 69°F that was set in 2015.
The northern San Joaquin Valley broke its previous records that have been standing for nearly half a century.
Stockton broke its record of 71°F by three degrees as temperatures rose to 74°F, which was the warmest temperature recorded in the region by the NWS on Tuesday.
Modesto set a new record-high when temperatures reached 70°F, breaking the former record of 69°F.
