In response to a nationwide listeria outbreak , Trader Joe’s and Costco recalled multiple premade food items that may have included cotija cheese contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes , a potentially life-threatening bacteria.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Tuesday that they had traced the outbreak to the Rizo-López Foods dairy manufacturing facility in Modesto, California.

Listeria is a common bacteria, but the Listeria monocytogenes strain can be dangerous to vulnerable groups like the very young or old and those who are immunocompromised. Listeria infection can also cause miscarriage or stillbirth in pregnant people.

Two people so far have died and 23 have been hospitalized after eating contaminated dairy products tied to the outbreak.

Trader Joe’s recalled the following products:

  • Trader Joe’s Chicken Enchiladas Verde (SKU 58292)
  • Trader Joe’s Cilantro Salad Dressing (SKU 36420)
  • Trader Joe’s Elote Chopped Salad Kit (SKU 74768)
  • Trader Joe’s Southwest Salad (SKU 56077)
