Here are the 21 SJ County wrestlers who placed at the 2024 SJS Masters

Hundreds of high school wrestlers gathered in Adventist Health Arena in the hopes of proving they’re the top wrestlers in their weight class at the 2024 Sac-Joaquin Section Wrestling Masters.

The 209 was well represented throughout the two-day tournament with 13 wrestlers finishing fourth place or higher. The lone gold medalist this year is Tokay girls’ wrestler, Kayleen Tuavao who finished first in the 140-pound weight class.

“I’ve been trying to get better,” Tuavao said. “My coaches and my mom all tell me to keep fighting, don’t stay on your back and when you put someone on their back, just keep them there. My opponent put up a good fight but I’m glad I won.”

The top six wrestlers from each weight class from the Masters qualify for the 2024 State Championship which will be held at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield from Feb. 22-24.

Here are the SJ County boy and girl wrestlers who qualified for the State Championship meet and where they placed in the Masters.
