Joyce Ann Cooper

Joyce Ann Cooper, aged 81, passed away on June 20, 2024, in Modesto, CA. Born on April 12, 1943, Joyce lived a life marked by her dedication to others and her vibrant interests.Joyce had a profound love for dancing, music, reading, and especially gardening. Her front yard was a local marvel, often admired and photographed by passersby. She devoted much of her time to volunteering at the local hospital, offering comfort and companionship to terminally ill patients. A committed member of the La Leche League, Joyce supported numerous mothers in journey of motherhood.Her infectious smile and ability to brighten any room will be fondly remembered, as will her beautiful gardens.Joyce is survived by her loving children, Paul Vaughan and his wife, Sarah, of Squaw Valley, CA, and Phil Vaughan and his wife, Danielle, of Auburn, CA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jennifer (Vaughan) Mittag and her husband, Eric; Tria Washburn and her family; and Sierra Vaughan, along with several cherished great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. The time she spent with them brought immense joy to her life. Her sister, Julie Cooper, and niece, Dawnyll (Cooper) Schultz and her family also survive her. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Genevieve Cooper; her brothers, Bill and Bruce Cooper; and her nephew, Ron Cooper.Joyce’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and beauty will continue to inspire all who knew her.
