Oakdale man killed in Modesto motorcycle collision on Highway 132 identified by coroner

A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Yosemite Boulevard and Kerr Avenue in Modesto on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Modesto Police Department.

The motorcyclist was identified as 31-year-old Oakdale resident Alex Betancourt. Officers arrived at the scene of the collision at about 1 p.m.

Early investigation showed that an Acura TLX, driven by a Manteca man, was heading east on Yosemite boulevard when it collided with the Harley-Davidson Dyna driven by Betancourt. The collision ejected Betancourt from his bike.

Life-saving efforts were performed by citizens and responding officers, according to MPD. Betancourt died from his injuries at a local hospital.

MPD did not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
