Stockton: Felon Arrested On Suspicion Of Multiple Weapons Crimes

A Stockton man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of firing a gun and being in possession of multiple firearms as a felon and over a half pound of cocaine, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in Stockton and made contact with Victor Lopez, who they said admitted to firing a gun out of a window of his residence.

A search warrant was issued and detectives allegedly found a loaded AR-style un-serialized rifle, a stolen handgun, over 800 rounds of ammunition, two ballistic vests, one ballistic helmet, .06 pounds of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia.

Lopez was arrested on suspicion of willfully discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a narcotic for sale, being a violent felon in possession of body armor, being in possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, illegal possession of an assault weapon, being in possession of a firearm without an identification mark, and possession of stolen property.
