OAKDALE, Calif. – A 33-year-old Escalon man was killed in a car crash Thursday morning in Oakdale, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP was dispatched around 7:33 a.m. to the crash site in Stanislaus County on Highway 120, west of Meadowlark Lane. The crash occurred when a man driving a hatchback traveling westbound attempted to pass a sedan as their lanes merged. The hatchback hit the sedan, causing it to rotate into the eastbound lane where it collided with an oncoming pickup, and then into a raised concrete curb and traffic sign, CHP said.
