Tired driver hits guard rail in Merced County: CHP

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A sleepy driver crashed a Dodge Challenger into the guardrail on Highway 99 near Delhi, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to a social media post on Tuesday, CHP says they responded to a solo vehicle crash on Highway 99 after the driver said he allowed his Dodge Challenger to drift into the center divide and crash into the guardrail.

The CHP says the crash happened due to the driver being fatigued. Instead of pulling over to rest, officers say the driver continued on the road, leading to the crash.

Officers advise anyone tired behind the wheel not to push through but instead to find a safe place to rest before finishing the journey.
