Fire destroys vacant Stockton building, former YMCA center

STOCKTON, Calif. – The vacant former YMCA building caught fire early Wednesday morning in Stockton, officials said. Fire crews were dispatched around 3:50 a.m. to North Center and East Park streets. Firefighters arrived to flames burning through the roof, said Brandon Doolan with the Stockton Fire Department. Additional crews were called to help contain the blaze which threatened the nearby Cesar Chavez Central Library.
