Two candidates are running to be the next mayor of Stockton: Christina Fugazi, an assistant principal at Stagg High School who represented District 5 on the Stockton City Council from 2015 to 2022, and Tom Patti, a businessman who has represented District 3 on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors since 2016.
Fugazi and Patti are vying to replace Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln, who is hoping to unseat U.S. Rep. Josh Harder in California’s 9th Congressional District come November.
Both candidates fielded questions Wednesday night during a forum at San Joaquin Delta College. The rules allowed for opening and closing statements, as well as a handful of questions curated by the League of Women Voters of San Joaquin County and its 11 partner organizations, which included The Record.
