Famed saxophonist Branford Marsalis will perform with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra for its season opening concert at the Gallo Center. LeAnn Rimes also wil play at the center. Those are just two of the many entertainment options in the Modesto region for Oct. 5-11.

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra opens its 94th season joined by saxophonist Branford Marsalis. The program at the Gallo Center includes Marsalis performing Milhaud’s “Scaramouche” and John Williams’ “Escapades” from the movie “Catch Me If You Can.” The program also features Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances from “Prince Igor” and concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

LeAnn Rimes
Multiplatinum-selling and award-winning singer LeAnn Rimes brings her music to the Gallo Center. Rimes has won two Grammy Awards; 12 Billboard Music Awards; two World Music Awards; three Academy of Country Music Awards; two Country Music Association Awards and one Dove Award, according to the center’s website. At 14, Rimes won the Grammy for best new artist, the youngest solo performer to win the award. Limited tickets were available.
