Great Valley Bookfest returns to Manteca on Saturday

The Great Valley Bookfest is returning to Manteca for another year of literature.

The book festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley at Bass Pro Center at the intersection of Highway 120 and Union Road in Manteca.

This is a free event that is open to the public.

“Our mission for the Great Valley Bookfest is to create a family-friendly festival that celebrates literacy and promotes the written word in the heart of California’s Central Valley,” the events website states.

According to the book festival’s website there will be authors, workshops, cooking demonstrations, a parade, performances and much more.

“Dozens of authors will answer questions and sign books in ‘Authors’ Alley,’ gourmet food trucks will line ‘Knosh Boulevard,’ and the rest of the walkways will be filled with a wide variety of vendors,” the website states.
