Early election results Friday showed which three of the seven candidates competing to become a trustee for the San Joaquin Delta College Board of Trustees in Areas 1, 2 and 6 were in the lead.
In the 2024 general election, San Joaquin Delta College had three seats to fill:
- Area 1, where Jennet Stebbins did not seek reelection.
- Area 2, currently filled by Jessie Garza Roderick, who was appointed to the board in January.
- Area 6, which has been vacant since the death of trustee Valerie Stewart-Green in August.
Adding their names to the ballot for a chance on the board were Shelly Stoll Swanson and Ralph Lee White for Area 1, Dan Wright, Julie D. Kay, and Samuel Anderson for Area 2, and Catalina PiƱa against Rosario Patrick for Area 6.
The latest results as of Friday showed Swanson obtaining 64.29% of the vote for a total of 7,579 votes, while opponent White held 4,210 votes for 35.71%.
In the Area 2 race, Wright led with 48.61% of the vote for a total of 8,681 of votes. His contenders Kay and Anderson had garnered 31.13% and 20.27% of the votes.
