Major Central California drug bust linked to Sinaloa cartel

(FOX40.COM) — In just over a week, a task force of law enforcement agencies from across San Joaquin County and at the federal level made over a dozen arrests and seized over 100 firearms and various drugs linked to a cartel.

On Nov. 4, The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, Stockton Police Department, Tracy Police Department, DEA, HSI and ATF began a week-long operation targeting the Sinaloa cartel’s operations in Central California.

The cartel is known in the Central Valley for moving large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl and firearms.

The operation concluded on Wednesday after 19 federal search warrants were served in San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and Merced counties.

The results of the operation were:
• 13 arrests on federal and state charges
• The seizure of 110 pounds of crystal methamphetamine
• 120,000 fentanyl pills
• 2 kilograms of cocaine
• 1/4 pound of heroin
• Approximately $4 million in concentrated THC products
• Roughly $450,000 in cash
• 141 firearms (including machine gun conversions, ARs, pistols, rifles, and .50 caliber weapons)
• High-capacity magazines and a suppressor
