(FOX40.COM) — The annual Adopt-a-Child toy drive was hosted on December 12 by Saint Joseph’s Medical Center (SJMC) employees in Stockton.
According to a news release, the toy drive, which is organized by employee volunteers, collected over 1,400 toys and 20 bikes for local children.
SJMC partnered with nonprofit organizations such as the Child Abuse Prevention Council, Human Services Agency, Prevail, Children’s Home of Stockton, and Stockton Shelter for the Homeless.
The toys are set to be distributed to over 500 local children that are in the San Joaquin community just in time for Christmas.
“We continued to be blown away by the generosity of the staff at St. Joseph’s Medical Center,” said Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Julie Kay Eckardt-Cantrall. “The hospital was founded on the mission of serving the greater community, and I am proud that 125 years later, we continue that legacy of giving back.”
