Atwater swears in new police chief

ATWATER, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A day after the police chief for the Atwater Police Department retired , a new one was sworn in on Thursday.

Former police chief Michael Salvador signed off for the final time Wednesday. Salvador served a total of 37 years in law enforcement. He served six years with the Atwater Police Department.

The City of Atwater swore in Richard McEachin as the city’s police chief on Thursday.

The city says that McEachin came to the Atwater Police Department with prior experience as chief of the Clayton Police Department and the Dos Palos Police Department.
