Yellow car driver arrested after Madera County hit-and-run

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man has been arrested following a hit and run in Madera County on New Year’s morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers say they responded to the area of southbound Highway 99 and Avenue 18 1/2 on Wednesday regarding a hit-and-run crash involving two vehicles.

Investigators report a yellow Chevy Cobalt collided with a pick-up and its horse trailer.

CHP says the driver and vehicle were later located at a nearby gas station, south of the crash scene. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Winton, California, was determined to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

Officers say no injuries were reported.
