The impact from the crash caused the Honda to veer off the roadway and overturn down the embankment on the west shoulder of I-5, according to CHP. It came to rest on its roof.

Despite lifesaving measures by first responders, the 86-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP suspects alcohol to be a factor in the crash. The 29-year-old was arrested for alleged DUI.
