Strong winds in Stockton, ‘life-threatening, destructive windstorm’ forecast in California

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for a “life-threatening, destructive (and) widespread windstorm” in California for the next two days.

“A life-threatening, destructive, widespread windstorm is expected Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning,” NWS says on its website. “Widespread damaging winds are expected across most of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Areas not typically windy will be impacted.”

Stockton weather forecast: Wind gusts, highs in the 60s

Stockton weather is expected to grow increasingly windy Tuesday, with gusts up to 12 mph in the forecast and a high of 65 degrees, according to Accuweather . Wednesday should be breezy and a bit cooler at 61, with lows dropping to 36 degrees. The rest of the week should remain sunny with temps in the 60s.

A wind advisory is in effect in the Delta, Carquinez Strait, southern Sacramento Valley and Sierra through 7 a.m. Wednesday, with winds 15 to 25 mph and gusts 35 to 45 mph, Accuweather says .

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” Accuweather warns, advisting that outdoor objects be secured. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
