First cases of California residents with bird flu traced to Central Valley

CALIFORNIA, USA — Health officials in California have confirmed the first documented cases of bird flu in humans at Central Valley farms where infected dairy cows were detected.

Since then, 36 others have tested positive for the HPAI A(H5N1) virus.
