Powerful Pacific Storm System Brings Rain, Snow, Strong Winds to California, Oregon, Washington

A powerful Pacific storm system is set to impact the West Coast starting Monday, bringing heavy rain, mountain snow, and strong winds to California, Oregon, and Washington, the National Weather Service, Weather Prediction Center stated.

According to the National Weather Service, coastal regions from Central California to the Pacific Northwest will see scattered thunderstorms, with the heaviest rain expected near the California-Oregon border.

The Sierra Nevada and northern California mountain ranges could see snowfall of 1 to 2 feet, with higher elevations receiving up to 5 feet. Gusty winds up to 55 mph are forecasted in northern California and southern Oregon. The system is expected to move inland by Tuesday, spreading precipitation into the Rockies.
