OLYMPIA, Wash. — A revamped version of Mega Millions® is set to launch across the U.S., including in California, Washington, and 43 other states, with its first drawing scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 11 p.m. Eastern.
Following the final drawing under current rules on Friday, April 4, the new game will offer larger starting jackpots of $50 million, better odds, and non-jackpot prizes that are 2X to 10X larger.
According to the Mega Millions Consortium, winners who once claimed $2 can now expect up to $50. Odds to win any prize improve to 1 in 23. Ticket prices will rise to $5, replacing older features like “Megaplier.” (Source: Mega Millions, 3/25/25 release).
