Update: Pedestrian hit in Modesto in March dies. Driver already faces hit-and-run

A pedestrian has died several weeks after being struck by a vehicle in south Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Cheryl Spangler, 48, died from injuries suffered March 18 on South Seventh Street, said Officer Thomas Olsen in an email. A local Facebook news site said she died Saturday, May 3.
