Tables lined the Wentworth Education Center parking lot with handmade and garden grown items sold by special education students from various San Joaquin County school districts.
The students were able to showcase their work on April 24 at the annual farmers market held at the San Joaquin County Office of Education grounds. Zachary Franceschetti, San Joaquin County of Education Workability coordinator, told The Stockton Record that the event was a opportunity to show the community how talented the students are and how hard students work.
“It puts them in the spotlight and really lets them shine and feel successful and build on their self-esteem with that positive support from members of the community … once they do leave the classroom setting, they feel that confidence to really go out and tackle any obstacle that’s in their way,” Franceschetti said…
