California’s newest city already had 100,000 residents when it was incorporated in 2024

MOUNTAIN HOUSE, Calif. — California’s population saw a boost of nearly 110,000 people in 2024, and with that growth came a new addition to its map: Mountain House, now officially the 483rd city in the state.

Located about 35 miles west of Stockton in San Joaquin County, Mountain House incorporated in July 2024, according to the California Department of Finance.

Home to 28,795 residents, the city markets itself as a family-focused community with roots tracing back to the Gold Rush.
