STOCKTON, Calif. — While many celebrated Mother’s Day with flowers and cards, some families at Stockton’s University of the Pacific marked the occasion with caps, gowns and tears of pride.
Among them was Teresa Huerta, who beamed as her daughter Estephanie crossed the stage to receive a doctorate in occupational therapy.
“I’m very, very proud,” Huerta said. “She’s the first in our generation to have a big accomplishment like this.”…
