Stockton, CA – Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run on I-5 at Downing Ave.

Stockton, CA (May 14, 2025) – A serious hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian occurred Tuesday evening, May 13, on southbound I-5 at the Downing Avenue on-ramp in Stockton, leaving a woman with traumatic injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), emergency units were dispatched to the scene around 7:22 p.m. after receiving reports that a female pedestrian had been thrown onto the roadway in a bloody and unresponsive condition.

The unidentified woman appeared to have been ejected from a vehicle or struck by one in the roadway. Upon arrival, CHP officers and Stockton Fire personnel located the woman lying in the lane with visible injuries. Paramedics assessed the woman’s condition on-site before transporting her to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

Authorities reported that the suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle before officers arrived. No vehicle description was available at the time of the report, and investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to identify the hit-and-run driver…
