Julius Cordes Elementary takes first place at county math tournament

Numbers added up to a big win for Julius Cordes Elementary School at the 13th Annual San Joaquin County Math Tournament for seventh and eighth graders, held May 10, at the San Joaquin County Office of Education.

More than 190 students from across the county filled the competition space with energy and excitement, representing 35 teams from 17 schools. The tournament, hosted by the SJCOE Mathematics Department, aimed to promote excellence in math, strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills and give students a chance to shine in a competitive setting.
