(FOX40.COM) — Firefighters responded to a fast-moving vegetation fire off Highway 99 in San Joaquin County on Sunday afternoon.• Video above: Dangers of extreme heat
According to the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District, the fire started near Fontage Road north of Lathrop Road at around 4:20 p.m. The incident happened in an unincorporated area outside of Manteca near the community of Raymus Village.
LMFD stated that when crews arrived at the scene, they found a fast-moving vegetation fire that was threatening multiple structures. Firefighters worked quickly to attack the fire and protect the homes as they fought windy conditions with gusts up to 35 miles per hour…
