Stanislaus County has seen the end of a harrowing domestic violence case, with a conviction that promises to widely resonate. District Attorney Jeff Laugero announced the jury’s conclusion: 29-year-old Isaiah Negrete of Modesto was found guilty on numerous charges including domestic violence, child endangerment, and resisting arrest. The conviction stems from a series of violent encounters in which Negrete attacked his girlfriend, methods so brutal they included strangulation and dragging the victim by her hair. The jury’s decision carries the weight of a potential 10-year prison sentence.

According to the official social media post of the Stanislaus County District Attorney, “Modesto Police Officers located Negrete” and had to strategically employ “non-lethal force options” to ensure the child’s safety and detain Negrete. His history of domestic violence added to the severity of the sentence.
