STOCKTON, Calif. — A fire that tore through a long-vacant, historic building in downtown Stockton Saturday morning flared up again Sunday night, further damaging nearby properties and prompting city officials to consider demolition.
The burned-out building, located in the heart of downtown near Main and California Streets, now sits behind a chain-link fence. Its charred structure has become a symbol of growing concerns about neglected buildings in the area.
