TURLOCK, Calif. (FOX26) — As the Fourth of July approaches, Turlock officials are urging residents to obey local laws regarding fireworks to ensure a safe holiday.
The City of Turlock Fire Department and City Hall have teamed up to remind the community of the dangers and legal consequences associated with illegal fireworks.
“If it launches, explodes, or whistles — it’s illegal in Turlock,” officials said. Fines for violating these regulations start at $1,000 for the first offense, increase to $1,500 for the second, and reach $2,000 for each subsequent violation.
