Turlock woman denied parole for 2012 death of disabled daughter

A Turlock woman serving a prison sentence for the 2012 death of her two-year-old daughter has been denied parole, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.

Brandy Lee Rose Devine, 38, was denied parole following a hearing held at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla on Wednesday. Devine, who is serving a 15-years-to-life sentence, was convicted of second-degree murder for the death of her two-year-old daughter, Stephanie who suffered from severe disabilities, including cerebral palsy.

According to authorities, Devine locked her daughter in a crib and failed to provide care, food, or necessary medication over a span of three days in July 2012. During that time, Devine used methamphetamine, neglecting her daughter’s needs entirely…
