Modesto Man Arrested for Firearm and Narcotics Possession During Traffic Stop in Ceres

Last Friday, a Ceres police officer stopped a brown 2001 Honda Odyssey with expired registration in the 1700 block of Crowslanding Road around 8:57 a.m. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Robert Smith of Modesto, was on active searchable probation. Police later found a firearm and narcotics in the vehicle, as reported by the Ceres Police Department.

During a probation compliance check, Officer Lord-Huff found an illegal controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and an unserialized firearm. Smith, who is not allowed to have firearms or ammunition, was arrested without incident and booked at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
