San Joaquin woman sentenced for illegal firearm trafficking, the DOJ says

(FOX40.COM) — Alejandra Susana Castillo, 34, of Tracy, was sentenced on Friday by U.S. District Judge Dena Coggins to five years in prison for illegal firearms trafficking. • Video above: How to report a public safety threat

Active U.S. Attorney Kimberly A. Sanchez said that the court documents showed that between Aug. 22, 2023, and Aug. 27, 2024, Castillo and a co-conspirator trafficked firearms by allegedly purchasing them in Nevada and selling them on the back market in California.

Officials said that since Castillo’s co-conspirator is a convicted felon, she was not able to purchase the firearms himself. The two were able to obtain firearms by traveling together to a firearms dealer in Nevada. The co-conspirator would enter the store first, identify the firearm he wanted to Castillo through text messages, and then leave the store…
