Active U.S. Attorney Kimberly A. Sanchez said that the court documents showed that between Aug. 22, 2023, and Aug. 27, 2024, Castillo and a co-conspirator trafficked firearms by allegedly purchasing them in Nevada and selling them on the back market in California.
Officials said that since Castillo’s co-conspirator is a convicted felon, she was not able to purchase the firearms himself. The two were able to obtain firearms by traveling together to a firearms dealer in Nevada.
